"I enjoy taking on new and challenging projects. In 2011, this challenge included teaching filmmaking and other creative disciplines at a collegiate level. Since then, I have had the opportunity to mentor students, young and old, in the media arts."
Ryan Haggerty was born in Charlotte, NC and currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA where he works out of the community co-op, Work Hard Pittsburgh. He has also taught Communication courses online for Southern New Hampshire University. He earned a BA in Film Studies at UNC Wilmington and completed his MFA in Film and Digital Technology at Chatham University. His creative ventures include filmmaking, audio dramas, photography, and web design.
Ryan is currently co-producing a feature length narrative film titled, Blood on the Leaves. He was Director of Photography on the competitive short film Heels on Wheels, which took home Best Cinematography and Runner Up for Best Film awards at the 2014 Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project. The 2013 short film, Summer Hatch, was his first narrative film as a writer/director. In 2010, he directed the documentary Van Dyke and Company 25th Anniversary Retrospective. Ryan served as Director of Photography on the feature length documentary Tearing Down the Tent in 2007, and also wrote segments, produced, and provided voice-over for the audio book collection HP Lovecraft Radio Hour, Vol. I.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Ryan enjoys volunteering in community events, tasting new beers, and dancing like everyone is watching.
